Toronto-born and raised Palma N’Sheluvzit is a world-renowned hairstylist, creative force, and pioneering hair artist with the accolades to back it up. Growing up in the family barbershop Palma was introduced to the industry at an early age, surrounded by family who encouraged her curiosity and nurtured her growing talents. To date, she continues working alongside her father and mentor, Santo Morrone, as a co-owner of The Hair Spot.  

Palma has won many prestigious industry awards across Canada and the United States showcasing her work in both live and photo-based competitions and earning her a highly regarded place amongst industry professionals. In 2011 and 2015 she was a NAHA finalist, and a finalist for the Mirror Awards in 2012. She won the prestigious Contessa Avant-garde Hairstylist of the Year award in both 2012 and 2016, a tribute to her fearless style and commitment to excellence. In recent years Palma has taken a more active role in judging competitions, including Goldwell’s Color Zoom, Chatters Hair Salon contests, and NAHA and Contessa awards, lending her years of experience and mentorship to up-and-coming stylists.

With a commanding stage presence, Palma is often invited to speak at trade shows and industry events across North America, inspiring young and experienced stylists alike. She has made regular appearances at the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) tradeshows, the Long Beach International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE), Canada’s Allied Beauty Association (ABA) tradeshows over many years. Palma strongly believes in the importance of education, and continues to push her creative and professional boundaries with new challenges, including international travel and immersive experiences. In 2016 Palma was selected by Ken and Lisa Yamasaki to be part of a team of hair artists representing North America in the Global Creators Work competition in Tokyo, Japan. Building relationships through the language of hair and beauty comes naturally to Palma, and her authenticity is highly regarded in the industry around the world.  

Palma’s editorial collections have been widely praised and featured in various trade and professional publications including ELLE Magazine, EncoreHD, Hair Magazine, IDOLL Magazine, Salon Magazine, Canadian Hairdresser and SELF Magazine. Her wealth of knowledge and experience make her an excellent resource, and she is often quoted giving advice in blogs and magazine articles. Palma has made regular appearances on Canada’s national Cityline television show, offering tips and techniques to viewers across the country. And recently, Palma was the Guest Host of the Red- Carpet for the 2022 Contessa Awards where she interviewed the finalists who were nominated for this prestigious award.
