In Loving Memory of Former ABA President Donald Andrew Brown

September 4, 1928 – May 17, 2022
The consumate gentleman, Donald Brown, passed away May 17, 2022 at St. Peter’s Residences at Chedoke. Donald had a long and fruitful life. Predeceased by his wife, Helen Marie (MacNeil) and survived by his six children, Donald was a businessman, an entrepreneur, a dedicated volunteer and a lover of the arts, especially poetry. He represents the end of an era, the last brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather of his family. So one more poem to share in his honor….
Life! I know not what thou art
But I know that thou and I shall part;
And when, or how, or where we met
I own to me’s a secret yet.
Life! We have been together
Through pleasant and through cloudy weather;
‘Tis hard to part when friends are dear-
Perhaps will cost a sigh, a tear;
Then steal away, give little warning,
Choose thine own time;
Say not Good Night, – but in some brighter clime
Bid me Good Morning.
